Where You Land

Where to plant your seeds of wisdom
in fields ridden with thorns and weeds.
No fertile patch on this horizon.
How can seeds grow where none were reaped?

On stony ground the earth is shallow.
On rocky ground little soil is seen.
Where ground is moist, the seeds are crowded.
And weeds reach out till none can breathe.

Scatter wildly, and chance your fortune.
The stones, the weeds, the weathered earth.
And if you should grow, a chance is taken.
How you’ll survive in this hostile world.
