The Whiskey Jug

The whisky jug sits on the table
clutched between two well worn hands.
The body thinks about lost glory.
A memory lost, within a trance.

The whisky jug leaves the table.
Fills a glass right to the brim.
The body, hiding from reality,
lifts the glass and takes a drink.
