The Puppet

The puppet is speaking
and they’re working him well.
You really ought to listen,
‘cause he’s got a lot to tell.

He’s our number one soldier.
The leader of us all.
He shouts down from his tower,
saying Britain’s his only goal.

And if you don’t like his story
just go and call a strike.
You can bring down the puppet
and put up one you like.

‘Cause the rules of democracy
mean we work them how we like.
It’s a good game, punching puppets,
till they’re shaping up just right.
